It may be counter-intuitive, but did you know the holidays are really a GOOD time to consider selling your home?

Think about it…Less competition and really motivated buyers and homes that look their best and evoke feelings of family and warmth.

Many sellers do not want the hassle of showing their home during the holidays and will actually take them off the market.  Others who are considering selling will simply wait after the first of the year.  This means less competition for you!  Talk to your Realtor and make sure your home’s price reflects the current market and keep it ready to show on short notice.

Buyers who are looking at homes during the holidays mean one thing…They are motivated!  Could be a recent relocation or perhaps they are looking for the tax advantages.  In any case, be flexible with your schedule so your home is easy to show.

Do not underestimate the role that emotion plays in a home buyers decision making.  Make sure your home feels cozy and cheery.  As always, keep clutter to a minimum and don’t go overboard with the decorating.  Be sure to remove the decorations as soon as the holidays are over.
